1) Enterprise vs. Consumer Design PrinciplesHave you ever come across design tips telling you to keep it simple, make use of more whitespace or to design for mobile first? While definitely valid and helpful, a lot of design advice found online is tailored to designing consumer-facing applications or websites. With Mendix, more often than not, we work for enterprises. In this talk, Rico Robinson will describe the overlap and differences between enterprise and consumer Ux, as well as factors to consider when making design decisions.
2) Data VersioningImagine a form that is passed from person A to B to C; each person makes changes to the underlying Form object. How do we keep track of who made what changes when, where, why, etc.? How to present such changes elegantly in your Mendix app? In this section of the meet up, Wouter Penris will demo a sleek data-versioning pattern with a domain and Ui/x aspect, that you can use to create and maintain a chain of versioned data.
With this knowledge you’ll be able to simply and elegantly employ better Ux design and data versioning for your Mendix apps.
Key Takeaways:
Of course, there will be plenty of time for questions and networking, as always. 😊 The event will be held at the Ordina office in Utrecht.
Agenda:
Join us on an evening of pushing pixels and next-level networking!

https://partners.home.mendix.com/link/event/cbed512c-2f2b-468d-bdcd-c5163aae24fcDid you know that Mendix runs their own platform on the Mendix platform? The Community and Collaboration unit is responsible for many of the applications you daily interact with if you want to manage your project, get certified or are stuck with an issue. Most if not all apps are also build with Mendix our former CTO called it drinking our own champagne, and now with this meetup series we will explain some of our solutions to you and how we manage our own Mendix landscape at scale.
The first Meetup in the series is all about introducing the Community and Collaboration unit (aka C&C) and how we are sending emails and do UX at scale.
Whenever you signup, invite someone to your project, answer a question, and many more instance Mendix sends out emails to recipients. When the platform started all emails were sent by the application itself and all styling and templates were handled by them individually as well. Of course this is fine whenever you start sending emails for four applications but if you want to make it scalable different approaches are required. Roeland and Shana are going to talk about how we in Mendix send all those emails.
But what about the front end? How can we ensure a seamless experience for users across apps?A design system! Back in 2019, C&C owned numerous apps, each with their own custom CSS. This sparked the idea of having a design system to support the multi-app landscape. We'd like to share the experience of our star - Platform Design System! Also how we proved the value of PDS and conquered challenges along the way.

https://partners.home.mendix.com/link/event/21f84878-ebfd-4496-9605-e5ea792eae63In the past year, the world has been introduced to increasingly innovative smart assistants, powered by generative AI. More and more complex questions are being answered, and with the introduction of agents, tasks can even be performed automatically and partially autonomously.
But what does this mean for the Mendix Community? Mendix Assist simplifies Mendix application development for both new and experienced developers. But there is also a lot going on at the edge of the platform. There is a global discussion about the potential for generative AI to replace the high-code developer partially. How can we use this high-code assistance during our widget development workflow? We explored it for you!
AI Showdown – The ComparisonThis Meetup is the result of weeks of research in which Erick Souza, Tobias Kuhn, Lukas Tost and myself used different AI code assistants in developing a widget for a fictional use case. Which assistant provides valuable answers? How up-to-date is the assistants' knowledge? Which code examples are qualitative? And does it actually make the development of a widget faster, better, or of higher quality? Last but not least, what is our role in interacting with the assistants, and what did we learn about asking the right questions?
The AI assistants we cover are the publicly available versions of ChatGPT 4, Google Gemini, Microsoft Copilot, and Amazon CodeWhisperer.
The presentations will conclude with a Q&A, with time and space to ask your questions to all researchers and speakers. You’re also welcome to share your own experience with the crowd.
If you can't make it in person, we also covered you with a live stream. Details will be added soon.

About Mendix Meetups
The Mendix Community Meetups are about meeting other makers, sharing knowledge, and learning something new.
What we don't do at meetups:
Join us to discover what role Mendix extensibility can play in the upgrade and improvement of a large-scale order management system. In this meetup we will provide insight into the challenges faced with a large-scale order management system and discover the ways that we can utilize Mendix extensibility to make the life of a developer much more efficient. We will do this by means of 2 presentations:
Large-scale order management
Learn about:
· managing orders on a large scale with Mendix and what impact the seasons have on peak performance.
· the challenges faced with a Mendix approach to 24/7 availability needed to serve your customers.
· the challenges when performance is key in a global SaaS solution. How do you handle a 320 Gb database and tens of thousands of transactions?
· regulations and data security which are paramount for your business continuity. Moreover, you probably all will have used this platform without even knowing there is such a highly complex Mendix application enabling you.
Extend Mendix development beyond the default
In this second presentation we will take an in-depth look into the different StudioPro extensions that we have developed to make our life as developers easier and more efficient when performing an upgrade of the introduced large-scale system from Mendix 7 to version 9 and improving its functionality. The extensibility framework for StudioPro can be leveraged to speed up mondain tasks and can help in gaining more in-depth insight into related items. We will also demonstrate how the developed extensions can help with improved security and compliancy, also for your projects. Learn about the future steps in Mendix development by automating mondain tasks and gaining insight into your applications.
Key Takeaways:

https://partners.home.mendix.com/link/event/68aa12fb-c28b-4695-94d6-9f3f9da23278Maintaining a landscape of Mendix applications can be a time-consuming task; How can you track which applications need an update of some marketplace module? Which applications contain inline styling in order to determine the impact of the upgrade from Atlas 2 to 3? Which applications contain an outdated Java library, or one with severe security vulnerabilities? How can you check applications for your own best practices? And how can we reduce the repetitive upgrade and development efforts?
The Mendix SDK provides a way to read, change, and create Mendix applications. While the use of TypeScript may discourage you to start using the SDK, it is the solution to offer smart insights and detect incompliancy of your Mendix application landscape as well as to take away repetitive modelling tasks and reduce development efforts. During this meetup we will guide you through the opportunities and challenges of the Mendix SDK.
Presentations
In the first presentation, Wiemer Steenbeek will show how to use the Mendix SDK to detect (outdated) components in your Mendix application, to ease and focus upgrade efforts. In the second presentation, Marien Krouwel will show how you can use the Mendix SDK to automate migration from an OutSystems application to Mendix, as an example of how to transform any input model to Mendix.

https://partners.home.mendix.com/link/event/97bea10a-2c93-4d75-b192-e07517a4c450At Enexis, we’re tackling the energy transition—a challenge that, with today’s tools and knowledge, seems impossible to solve alone. Innovation isn’t a choice; it’s a necessity. Our path forward lies in the unknown, where speed, agility, and quality converge. And because security is a fundamental principle, not just a priority, we strive to be “Secure without Excuse” in everything we build.
Delivering energy isn’t just a business need; it’s essential for keeping homes warm, hospitals running, and communities powered.
