Business Need: For a long time, Agrico and its farmers lacked an efficient and clear system for managing stock, communication, and logistics. Farmers were constantly stuck in endless phone calls and emails with Agrico. It was time to find an effective solution that would replace the days of paperwork, endless calls, and countless emails with streamlined digital processes. Creating a farmer portal was the solution: a mobile app!
Solution: Building the Portal in Phases Our priority was to offer farmers a positive experience from the start, with the goal of increasing their enthusiasm for the app. To address potential initial issues, we rolled out the app in phases: We started with a basic version of the portal so farmers could easily familiarize themselves with the platform. Some farmers participated in testing, demonstrations, and improvement sessions, using a read-only version of the portal. After a few weeks, we invited groups of farmers to use the portal in read-only mode. After this testing period of approximately three months, we opened the portal for read-write access. This meant farmers could not only view data but also edit, update, or add to it. A so-called "Tele-foon" was created, where the Product Owner and the assistant could quickly assist farmers. This proactive contact facilitated a smooth transition to using the app for everyone.
Results: Currently, around 750 farmers working with Agrico use the Farmer Portal. Because they can easily connect, both online and offline, they have direct insight into logistics, stocks, and finances. They can easily view, update, and share data with Agrico, creating a seamless partnership. In this way, Agrico proves itself not only as a reliable partner but also as a true advisor when it comes to potatoes.
