Business Need: They use PDAs with a Windows Phone operating system, which has become obsolete in terms of the ability to update new features and security, in addition to connectivity failures and limited hardware performance. From this, two needs arise: Update the PDAs Implement a technology that allows for the development of Android applications as well as data integration with the client's ERP, and that is scalable over time.
Solution: At Incentro, we work collaboratively with the ORAN Auto project manager. We handle the client interface, and the client, in turn, focuses on the business and data layers. In this way, we implement a solution that standardizes all processes, integrates functions into a central mobile application, and enables the digitalization of new processes within the work environments of different areas. The proposal is to combine Mendix-Siemens Low-Code technology with Zebra devices to create a mobile application capable of recreating existing programs, while improving and modernizing their functions to optimize and streamline current and future processes.
Results: We have managed to recreate all the functionalities of older PDAs and improve the process for each one. Tasks now require fewer steps, and their processes are more convenient and faster for the operator. Each new feature development has been constantly tested by operators to fine-tune the features and ensure each task is as complete as possible and improves the user experience. Improvements thanks to the application's implementation: The ability to take photos and save them directly to the internet thanks to the interconnection with SharePoint. Incorporate improvements and/or changes to the backend without having to touch the devices. Error detection and improvement with the addition of additional validations that allow errors to be minimized or even prevented from occurring. A more user-friendly interface, more visually comfortable, and better distribution of information. Technological adaptation and reduction of hardware costs.
