Business Need: Mourik’s ambition was to become a digital front-runner by 2025 and improve decision-making through better data insight, while reducing administrative pressure by replacing paper- and Excel-based ways of working that led to inconsistent processes, limited measurability and inefficiencies across complex business processes.
Solution: Mourik chose Mendix low-code and partnered with Ciphix to create a “digital layer” over its IT landscape and start delivering apps in an agile way, beginning with initiatives such as traffic & more (for central insight into road closures around infrastructure projects) and an order to cash application for Mourik Industrie to digitalise the end-to-end process from order through invoicing, linked to the ERP system.
Results: The first phase delivered successful initial applications within a few months, enabling more consistent data capture, faster business involvement through frequent releases, reduced administrative effort in early use cases, and increased organisational enthusiasm and innovation capacity to continue building more apps (e.g., time registration and safety incident reporting).
