myHU

Description

Both students and lecturers were using a variety of different platforms to communicate with students. There were separate platforms to read or publish schedules, registrations, exams and other HU-related information. This resulted in users not being able to find the proper information in time, which led to missed deadlines and delayed graduations. As a result this generated a large amount of frustration from the HU community members. To resolve this problem the Hogeschool Utrecht decided to centralise the variety of different platforms into one application that would fulfill all user's needs.

General Information

Business Need: Both students and lecturers were using a variety of different platforms to communicate with students.

Solution: The myHU application combines and displays information from all platforms. Lecturers can inform their students, through the app, about their courses and the students receive their schedules and deadlines from differing systems in one schedule. Students can also track their enrollments through the myHU app, as well as view their exams and results in one page. The mobile app allows the students to view their schedule or exam results on the go. Lecturers can use the app to see what the students see so as to be able to help guide them through the app.

Results: A new innovative, application which centralises disparate systems into one app. A source of information for students and lecturers alike.
