Business Need: DHB used a networkhost to allocate orders among the partners as efficient as possible. The networkhost aged over time and DHB wanted to renew the networkhost, which was built in the cloud. Besides that, they wanted the new application to automatically send changes and mutations to the concerned party. DHB insisted that the new networkhost would be built in Mendix.
Solution: The Logistics Information Intelligence, built in Mendix, catches all orders that are intended for somewhere outside the region of a certain partner. The order will be appointed to one of the partners. Mutations and changes are being tracked and sent to the party that receives the order. Also, the application takes care of the mutual settlement between partners, as well as packaging registrations. Structural packages by large companies are sent by the DHB network, whose invoicing will be done automatically by the application. Mendix was used because of the ease to integrate other systems and flexibility for the future.
Results: The solution offers efficiency to the client and allows their partners to cooperate automatically by connecting and combining their data. It strengthens the advantage of the partnership in reducing the amount of trucks on the road and improving the time to action when market demand increases. Thus, the Mendix solution improves the flexibility of the company and lessens the amount of labor that is needed for the distribution and delivery of packages. Thereby it caters to the mission of the partnership to operate in a sustainable way.
