OpenWaste wanted to make waste collection smarter and more efficient by bundling collection flows, while allowing customers to keep their existing contracts, containers and contacts.

OpenWaste wanted to make waste collection smarter and more efficient by bundling collection flows, while allowing customers to keep their existing contracts, containers and contacts.
Solution: Axians built the OpenWaste platform with Mendix to bundle the minimum required collection data from participating waste collectors into a neutral route list. This allows a neutral waste collection vehicle to collect waste from multiple providers in one route, without giving competitors access to each other’s customer data. Using an Agile Scrum approach, Axians worked closely with OpenWaste to translate requirements into a practical application that supports planning, collection and data feedback.
