General Information

Business Need: John Holland operated several field and asset management processes using IBM Maximo that relied heavily on paper forms, spreadsheets, and manual administration. These processes reduced operational efficiency, created compliance risks, and limited visibility into real-time operations. The organisation required a modern digital platform that would streamline field operations while leveraging its existing investment in IBM Maximo.

Solution: Within six months, CAPE developed the Asset Service Platform (ASP), a modern digital layer around IBM Maximo that transformed paper-based operational processes into an integrated digital experience. The solution included 15 integrations and provided desktop and tablet applications for field workers, supervisors, and operational teams. Users could manage work orders, schedules, inspections, documentation, and asset information through a single user-friendly interface. A microservices-based architecture was implemented, allowing the solution to be scaled and reused across future business units, projects, and joint ventures.
